I started saving corks in the last century (I love saying that). Not every bottle I drank, but if it was some sort of occasion, I’d stick a cork in my pocket, and later write on it where it came from. I kept them in one of the little drawers in my roll-top desk. When it filled up, I started another little drawer. Then they all got moved to a big drawer. Eventually I was using cigar boxes. Finally I went to Michael’s Craft Shop and bought one of those really big jars. Now it’s overflowing. 2018 was a pretty good year, and I’m sure I’ll open a bottle of Champagne on New Years Eve, and save the cork. Then, on New Years Day, I plan to spill them out and finally read them. I’ll let you know what I find.
